The names of the hosts to be configured, must be entered in the DNS Control Panel in alphanumeric format. Therefore you may use all letters and all numbers, including the “dash” (“-“) symbol provided it is not placed at the beginning of the name.
The name must also include at least two dots, but they must not be placed at the end or at the beginning of the name that you wish to enter.
Here are some examples of how host names should be written:
hello.example.xxx OK
hello.pluto. example.xxx OK
hello. example-1.xxx OK
ci4-ao.5-pluto. example-1.xxx OK
.hello. example.xxx ERROR
hello.pluto.example.xxx. ERROR
hello. example-1.xxx. ERROR
.ci4-ao.5-pluto.example-1.xxx ERROR

ATTENTION: entering host names which correspond to names assigned by Aruba to its services (for example blog, photoalbum, sms, pec, etc…), could cause problems to such services, if they are then purchased.
Therefore we recommend that you choose host names that are different to the names of Aruba services.
